Through a network of business assistance service centers, the Washington, DC-SBDC Network provides free one-on-one counseling and minimal cost workshops to prospective and existing small businesses.

The Washington DC-SBDC is a technical resource created by a cooperative agreement between the U.S. Small Business Administration, Howard University and AEDC. For further information regarding the program, please contact the DC-SBDC at AEDC.

DC Small Business Development Center’s Mission

Help small businesses build a solid foundation in the areas of finance, marketing, management, and technology through counseling and training;

Serve as a catalyst for the creation of new businesses;
Facilitate access to capital;
Open up procurement opportunities with federal and local governments;
Be a conduit for business resources and state-of-the-art management techniques through affiliation with the U.S. SBA and other strategic business resource partners;
Create networking opportunities
