The “Anacostia Regional Center”  (ARC) was designated is by the Department of Homeland Security, Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) to accept  applications for investments from foreign nationals seeking an EB-5 designated Visa Status.

This designation was granted to the Anacostia Holding Company, Inc. (AHC) a wholly owned subsidiary of the Anacostia Economic Development Corporation (AEDC) for a targeted investment program within a specifically defined geographic region.

The ARC defined areas are Wards 7 & 8 in Washington, DC.

Anacostia Regional Center’s Mission

  •  To create a fund for EB-5 Foreign Investors which will invest in strategic business and real estate investments in Washington DC’s Wards 7 & 8

The TEA designated for the Anacostia Regional Center is Wards 7 and 8 within the District of Columbia.

How much investment capital will the Anacostia Regional Center seek to raise through this Pilot  Program?

 The Anacostia Regional Center (ARC) is preparing to launch an investment fund of $10,000,000 for investment in its designated area.  This amount represents a maximum of 20 immigrant investors. Based on this initial success, ARC would incrementally grow its fund to $50,000,000 annually.

Potential impact of the Anacostia Regional Center’s Pilot Program for residents of the District of Columbia

 The Anacostia Regional Center has the potential to raise millions of dollars of capital for use in  Wards 7 & 8.

This level of new equity capital would enable the following actions to take place:

   Significantly reduce the level of unemployment in Wards 7 & 8

   Leverage additional funds through traditional lending sources once investment capital is in place;

   Increase the corporate tax base by having businesses relocate into Wards 7 or 8 from areas outside the city; and

   Increase the real estate tax base by converting currently abandoned sites to productive locations for businesses.

The success of the ARC program will be determined by the quality of the business opportunities and real estate developments presented to the foreign investors for their participation.
