Anacostia Business Improvement District (ABID)

AEDC initiated the formation of the Anacostia Business Improvement District (ABID) and the preliminary operations launched in late 2012. The Anacostia BID has the potential to employee 20 East of the River residents to fill positions in areas of safety ambassadors, street cleaning, maintenance, beautification and transportation.

 

The Anacostia BID will supplement the services already offered by the District of Columbia Government and work to address the needs that are prevalent in Anacostia as discussed throughout the Anacostia Business Improvement District Corporation’s business plan.  With the implementation of the Anacostia BID, the new programming will revitalize the commercial district and energize commercial property owners and commercial tenants to invest in the community.

 

A clean, safe, vibrant revitalized Anacostia business district will encourage commercial property owners, employees, residents, and customers to promote the area as a high priority destination.
