Since 1974, the Anacostia Economic Development Corporation (AEDC) has supported the growth and success of small businesses through the AEDC/Small Business Development Center (AEDC/SBDC).
Our goal is simple: to help entrepreneurs turn ideas into opportunities, strengthen existing businesses, and contribute to a thriving District of Columbia business community.

The AEDC/SBDC provides technical assistance and business support to entrepreneurs and small businesses located in, or looking to establish themselves in, Washington, DC.

A Network Built on Partnership
In 2001, the AEDC/SBDC became a host institution of the Washington DC Small Business Development Center Network. Administered by the Howard University School of Business and supported in part by the U.S. Small Business Administration, the network works to strengthen small businesses throughout the District.
Through this partnership, AEDC helps connect entrepreneurs with resources and guidance that can support business growth, innovation, productivity, and long-term success.
