The Anacostia Economic Development Corporation (AEDC) is a Community Development Corporation that was established to meet the overall economic needs, and to improve the quality-of-life circumstances of the District of Columbia residents, specifically those residing in the Anacostia/Far Southeast community. Over the years AEDC and its subsidiaries have been at the forefront of housing development, commercial revitalization (including small/minority business development), job creation and venture development to serve residents who live East of the Anacostia River and the District of Columbia at-large. AEDC through the Small Business Development Center (AEDC-SBDC) continues to devote significant resources to facilitate opportunities for small businesses to start, expand and grow. Along with these opportunities AEDC helps create safe communities for residents to live, work, and patronize.

Established in 1981, the Anacostia Holding Company (AHC) is a wholly owned subsidiary of AEDC focused on real estate and business development in Washington, D.C. Through strategic partnerships and investments, AHC supports commercial and residential projects that promote economic growth and strengthen communities for future generations.
Small Business Development Center
The AEDC Small Business Development Center (SBDC) provides free, confidential business consulting, technical assistance, and affordable training to District of Columbia residents and small businesses. Services include business planning, market research, financial forecasting, marketing, business financing, government certification, and procurement assistance to help entrepreneurs start, grow, and expand their businesses.
Anacostia Manufacturing & Development
Anacostia Manufacturing & Development (AMD) is a joint venture focused on creating career pathways for District residents through skills training and long-term employment opportunities. AMD provides security and electrical installation, LED lighting assembly, and general construction services.
